Speech/Language Pathology
Our Speech-Language Pathology program is designed to help children and adults with speech, language, voice, swallowing, and cognitive skills. Individualized treatment plans are developed with the patient, family, caregiver, physician, and therapist to improve communication and/or swallowing skills to their maximum potential.
Our services include screening and diagnostic assessment for children and adults with communication disorders and/or swallowing impairment secondary to:
- Speech/language delay
- Hearing loss/Recurrent Otitis Media
- Pervasive Developmental Disorder/Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Developmental delays
- Cleft Palate/Congenital anomalies
- Cerebral Palsy/Neurological disorders
- Down Syndrome or other genetic disorders
- Auditory Processing disorder
- Stroke
- Traumatic Brain Injury
- Parkinson’s Disease
- Alzheimer’s Disease
- Other Neurological disorders (Multiple sclerosis, ALS, Muscular Dystrophies)
- Voice and Fluency disorders
- Laryngectomy
- Instrumental assessment of swallowing (Modified Barium Swallow study) is also performed on-site.
Individualized therapeutic intervention for the flowing delays or disorders:
- Receptive or expressive language delay or disorder
- Cognitive-linguistic communication skills (e.g., attention and memory skills)
- Articulation disorder/Oral motor dysfunction
- Fluency or Voice disorder
Our Speech-Language Pathologist holds a Master’s Degree and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) awarded by the American Speech-Language & Hearing Association and is licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
