- Pete’s Tire Barn Pledges $7,500 to Athol Hospital Emergency Department and Medical Office Building Project
May 8, 2017
Pete’s Tire Barn of Gardner, MA has pledged $7,500 to the Heywood Healthcare ‘Fulfilling Our Promise’ Capital Campaign, a community-responsive, multi-pronged fundraising initiative, designed to ensure that the healthcare needs of the community will be met now and in the future.
This pledge will support the construction of a new Emergency Department and outpatient Medical Office Building at Athol Hospital, creating a state-of-the-art center that offers double the current capacity, with 13-exam rooms, including eight private acute care rooms and five behavioral rooms within a behavioral health suite, and a separate ambulance entrance. It will also include a new lobby for improved patient and visitor access and a new radiology department providing enhanced care and privacy. The second and third floors will serve as medical office space, housing behavioral health services as well as primary care and specialty physicians.
“Pete’s Tire Barns remains committed to the vision of Heywood Healthcare to continue to offer state-of the-art medical care and innovation to the great Gardner and Athol regions. We are proud to support this endeavor and hope that other businesses will join us in contributing to this long awaited and much-needed expansion, which will serve our communities for years to come” said Amy Sanden, Public Relations liaison for Pete’s Tire Barns Inc.
“This pledge helps us continue our quest to meet the healthcare needs of our community. These needed upgrades to infrastructure will allow Athol Hospital to offer a more robust array of services including specialty care, primary care, and behavioral health care provided under one roof, improving access for residents of our rural areas, which can often be a challenge ,” said Dawn Casavant, Executive Vice President of the Heywood Healthcare Charitable Foundation.
