EKG/Holter
Monitoring
EKG is a
complex
measurement of
the heart's
electrical
activity. The
results provide
the doctor with
invaluable
information
about the
heart's rhythm
and the
condition of
it's muscles.
Holter monitor
is a small light
weight portable
tape recorder
with electrodes
which are
attached to the
patient for a
24-48 hour
period while the
patient
continues normal
daily
activities. If
longer at-home
monitoring is
needed, the
trans-telephonic
monitor may be
used.
-
Stress
Testing
Stress
Testing is used
to evaluate
heart function
while the
patient is
exercising on a
treadmill, thus
increasing the
workload of the
heart.
