The Athol Memorial Hospital Auxiliary raises money for hospital equipment and furnishings. The Auxiliary operates the Glass Shelf Gift Shop (located off the main lobby), and sponsors a number of fund raising events. The River Rat Spectacular Pancake Breakfast, held in conjunction with the famous Athol-to-Orange canoe race in April, is perhaps the Auxiliary's best-known fund-raiser. Other events that have become local traditions are the May Plant Sale and Fair and the raffle of special holiday baskets in December.

In recent years some thirty thousand dollars a year has been raised -- quite an accomplishment! Auxiliary membership is open to all who are interested in helping the hospital.

Auxiliary meetings are held monthly, the second Tuesday of every month at 1:00 p.m. in the Athol Memorial Hospital Conference Room. There is a business meeting followed by a guest speaker and refreshments.
